NUWAY’s Vice President of Public Policy, Amy Dellwo, helps recognize the work of Sober Squad, a Minnesota-Based, Native-led group whose mission is to empower individuals in recovery to build healthier communities. In addition to her work at NUWAY, Amy Dellwo is Government Affairs Co-Chair and President-Elect of the Minnesota Association of Resources for Recovery and Chemical Health (MARRCH), a professional association raising awareness about addiction and recovery. Each year, MAARCH issues awards to recognize the contributions of recovery-supportive organizations throughout Minnesota. In a PRX radio interview, Dellwo says that MAARCH chose to acknowledge Sober Squad with its Peer Recovery Award because this grass-roots group has managed to train approximately sixty peer support specialists and is expanding its mission to other states.
